I've only just seen this and wasn't aware you were working on this.
I've already removed all the Xerces/Xalan crap in IcedTea7, replacing
it with the use of xsltproc when bootstrapping, and I plan to backport
that to IcedTea6.  So all this will be going anyway.  Sorry for the
wasted effort.
