<div dir="ltr"><div><div><div>Hi!<br><br></div>I am seeing 100% CPU usage by the Java process when I use the IcedTea plugin + OpenJDK 7 in Firefox 22 on Peppermint Linux.<br><br></div>It's not every time. Mostly after I load a few applets, it begins. Applets don't work and CPU usage of Java process = 100%.<br>
<br>I also saw this with Java 6 I think. Definitely it's Java 7 now:<br><br>~ $ dpkg -l|grep iced<br>ii icedtea-7-jre-jamvm 7u25-2.3.10-1ubuntu0.12.04.2 Alternative JVM for OpenJDK, using JamVM<br>
ii icedtea-7-plugin 1.2.3-0ubuntu0.12.04.3 web browser plugin based on OpenJDK and IcedTea to execute Java applets<br>ii icedtea-netx 1.2.3-0ubuntu0.12.04.3 NetX - implementation of the Java Network Launching Protocol (JNLP)<br>
ii icedtea-netx-common 1.2.3-0ubuntu0.12.04.3 NetX - implementation of the Java Network Launching Protocol (JNLP)<br><br>What to do...? Any way to find out what the Java process is doing?<br>
<br></div><div>I'll try kill -3 to get a stack dump next time the bug is seen. Hope it goes somewhere I can see it.<br><br></div><div>Note: Sometimes the CPU load seems to go away again by itself, remember seeing that once.<br>
<br>Weird, eh?<br><br></div><div>Here's an example applet btw: <a href="http://tinybrain.de:8080/tb/gui-applet.php?id=105">http://tinybrain.de:8080/tb/gui-applet.php?id=105</a><br></div><div><br>Any ideas?<br><br></div>
