Ah, I see you took a more conservative approach. I prefer to make ppc64le
explicit in the JDK to future-proof us from any further problems. The main
reason for re-using ppc64 in HotSpot is just to avoid duplicating makefiles.

Thanks for this. I got some way to getting a 9 build going, but not there yet :(
