Yes, you're right. But I always understood this sentence in the way
that "eight significant contributions" is an absolute minimum for
becoming a Committer.

Until now we (i.e. me and my colleagues from the SAP JVM team) always
accepted this overhead in order to conform with what we thought are
the general rules of the project. But maybe that was unnecessary and

I "kindly asked" and specially did not vote with "Veto". So if you and
all the other voters think this vote is OK, I won't further object.
