I'm in the same boat as you. I tried a few different ways to get the
MLVM patches to apply to the BSD ported OpenJDK and simply couldn't make
it go. There's files that don't exist or have moved, and significant
changes to many others.

OK, I've got the latest bsd-port, and am trying to apply the patches - which are failing.

(Btw - John, are the instructions at http://wikis.sun.com/display/mlvm/Building missing a step like:
I think we need to get an update on the status of the BSD patchset with
more recent OpenJDK builds. A large part of the reason why I haven't
been continuing to play with MLVM recently (outside of resource
limitations) is that I can't run it natively on OS X yet.

If you do talk to BSD guys, keep us posted :)

I've asked if anyone has any cycles to help us out. I have time, but no experience :) - so if we can get someone who has experience but limited time, I think we'll be OK.

Thanks,
