I absolutely agree. The ADF approach is yet another htm5/JS/CSS-framework like Codemeter, Sencha Touch, JQuery Mobile, ... to name a few. These frameworks are useful, but only for form based apps.
Richard: I would like to confirm our commercial interest in JavaFX for iOS, Android and Windows 8 metro. We are developing commercial software for desktop and mobile/tablet like our music software "UltraMixer" (www.ultramixer.com) or our sampling software "SampleDecks" (www.sampledecks.com) which do we want to bring to iPad & Co.
So we really looking forward to JavaFX2 for iOS & co so that we could decrease our development time...
btw: you and your guys from the JavaFX team make a really good job! JavaFX2 is the best platform we have seen for a while. So please bring JavaFX2 to real world success and port it to the most important platforms iOS, android (and windows 8).

Having piles and piles of code / tools developed for ADF, having some means to leverage that for mobile development is, I believe, the main driver for ADF Mobile. For example, JDeveloper provides tooling both for ADF and ADF Mobile, using the same databinding support etc.
