pulse-java.jar is mostly obsolete at this point.

Java should be able to make use of the userspace ALSA API which should
transparently pass through to PulseAudio (if your distribution
configures PulseAudio correctly):

Java -> ALSA (userspace) -> PulseAudio -> ALSA (kernel)

Can you try and remove pulse-java.jar and/or comment out the relevant
bits in the sound.properties file in the JRE?

To comment out the relevant parts in sound.properties file, just put a
'#' at the beginning of any line in that mentions
