FYI, since there were some discussion around this: The OpenJDK Developers' Guide project is now up and running.

The mailing list to join is guide-dev at openjdk.java.net: http://mail.openjdk.java.net/mailman/listinfo/guide-dev

The source repository is available here: https://github.com/openjdk/guide

The online version, https://openjdk.java.net/guide/ is now updated from the github repo.
