Looks like I started quite a debate about what I was trying to say instead
of what I was actually saying. :)

So what I was actually trying to say:
  if (-Dprism.dirtyopts == true)
    // Glitches start to appear #%&"*´
  else if (-Dprism.dirtyopts == false)
    // App runs perfectly

The problem happens as soon as you add an object to the scene. The problem
is that I don't know exactly what causes this so it's complicated to create
a small test app that reproduces it. I can however provide the application
and instructions on how to reproduce the issue inside the app.
I'll try removing the effects and see what happens. I'll also file a jira
issue on this with the information I have so far.
